Arthur Mayfield

Arthur Joseph “Art” Mayfield, 75, of Loraine, passed away at 6:00 AM, Friday, December 10, 2021, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

He was born on March 10, 1946, in Mt. Sterling, the son of Frank and Martha (Kruse) Mayfield.  He married Patricia Newenham on August 18, 1972, in Mt. Sterling and she survives.

Also surviving are four siblings David (Dorothy) Mayfield of Ursa, Judy Walton of Paloma, Karen (Boyd) Bowen of Clayton, and John (Mae) Mayfield of Houston, Texas, brothers-in-law Michael (Connie) Newenham of Rushville and Donald (Norma) Newenham of Mt. Sterling, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Lawrence Walton.

Art worked for Quincy Paper Box for over 23 years.  He later worked for the Edgewood Orchard in Quincy.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 16, 2021, at the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon, with Russell Corrigan officiating.  Interment will follow in the Curless Cemetery,  near Loraine.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, December 16, 2021, at the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon.  Memorials are suggested to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or the Adams County Humane Society.
