Delores K. “Dee” Brown Ozley, 79, of Rushville, passed away at 12:13 PM, Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
She was born on July 15, 1938, in Schuyler County, Illinois, the daughter of Ermal and Estella (Malcomson) Brown. She was married to Loyd Stanford and James Ozley.
Surviving are three children David Stanford and wife Serena of Mesa, Arizona, Melanie Clarke and husband Michael of Rockford and Michele Fitzjarrald and husband Phillip of Rushville, four grandchildren Lacey Marcelino and husband Seth, Kylie Avery and companion Brennen Smith, Torin Kasper and companion Mel Amedio and Phillip Fitzjarrald III, four great grandchildren Kaden Jones, Rylee Jones, Kendyl Marcelino and Karson Marcelino, one brother Charles “Chuck” Orr and wife Shirley of Rockford and special childhood friend Nova Hays of Rushville and a niece. She was preceded in death by a grandson Jeremy Tennison, a brother Keith Orr and a sister Eloise Orr.
Dee worked in various departments at Amerock in Rockford for many years. After returning to Rushville, she worked at Methode in Golden and as an in home caregiver to the elderly.
She was a past member of the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, south of Rushville and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rockford. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and Yahtzee, and bingo. She owned and rode her own motorcycle for many years.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, May 6, 2018, at the Messerer Cemetery, near Frederick. Memorials are suggest to the Heritage Health, Therapy and Senior Care in Mt. Sterling Activity Fund.
