Dillon G. Calfee

Dillon G. Calfee, 40, of Loraine, Illinois passed away at 6:17 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2024, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. He was born in Quincy, Illinois on October 1, 1983, a son of Ronnie and Tammy (Dobbs) Calfee. 

He attended Unity High School. Dillon paired a tenacious work ethic with a desire to learn; about real estate, tax law and property management in recent years. He turned that into successful property businesses, Calfee Rentals and D&D Tri State Properties and a partnership with Rescue Heating and Air. He earned all that had become his. He was often joined on the worksite by any of his three boys. On many occasions they were there to provide cheap labor. On all occasions it provided moments they will forever cherish with Dad. 

While Dillon was as hard of a worker as you could find, he was an even more loyal friend, fiancé, son and father. He was the first number listed in the emergency tab of many friend’s contacts. Earning Dillon’s trust meant earning a friend who would deplete himself of his own energy so he could provide it to you. He showed up, when it was easy to do, and more importantly when it wasn’t. The selfless, compassionate and generous heart under his stoic and firm exterior made him a best friend to countless people over his 40 years.

Dillon was always up to something. He was an expert button pusher and planner of shenanigans. His plotting was always poorly masked by a guilty smirk. A day with Dillon either left you sore from the laughter or mad as hell. No matter which, you always came back for more. Dillon took providing for his family quite seriously. To the benefit of everyone around him, he took the rest of life much less so. 

He is survived by his fiancé, Kassondra Blanchett; three sons, Ayden, Colton, and Brayson Calfee; his brother, Denton Calfee all of Loraine, Illinois. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by both his maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents and his parents.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at the Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon, Illinois. Rev. Sherry Renner to officiate. Interment will follow at the New Loraine Cemetery in Loraine, Illinois. 

The Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Calfee Children’s Education Fund.
