Doris “Dee” Agans, 72, of Camden, passed away at 3:14 PM, Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
She was born on May 3, 1949, in Macomb, the daughter of Lloyd and Florence (McClelland) Hale.
Surviving are two daughters Heather Agans and Haley Kelly and husband Chad all of Rushville, three grandchildren Mallory Bowman, Lance Kelly and Paxton Kelly, one sister Donna Skiles of Normal, two nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Hannah Barnewolt, sister Leigh Ann Bollinger, and her fiancée Frank Kirkpatrick.
A 1967 graduate of Rushville High School and a 1968 graduate of Quincy Beauty Academy. She first worked as a hairdresser at Clarice’s Beauty Shop. She later worked part time for Cass Cable in Rushville. In 1985, she began her career as an Administrative Coordinator with the Schuyler County Soil and Water Conservation District in Rushville, retiring in 2011. She was also a Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator.
She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Rushville. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and had a special knack for finding mushrooms. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville, with Pastor Bill Rucker officiating. Interment will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville. Memorials are suggested to the Schuyler County Humane Society.
