Doug Trone, 50, of Rushville, passed away at 1:17 PM, Saturday, January 9, 2016, at his home.
He was born on August 2, 1965, at Culbertson Hospital in Rushville, Illinois, the son of Larry R. and Sue Ann (Parsano) Trone. He married Gina Curry on October 21, 2006, in Rushville and she survives.
Also surviving are his father Larry Trone of Rushville, two step children FC 2 E5 Dylan Ren stationed at Norfolk, Virginia, and Abby Webster of Rushville, two brothers Deano Trone and wife Courtnie and Jo Trone and wife Emily all of Rushville, his maternal grandmother Pauline Parsano of Rushville, nephews and nieces Dallas, Austin, Ainsley, Maggie, Tanna, and Tyson Trone, several aunts, uncles, cousins and his “little dog” Lucy. He was preceded in death by his mother, grandfather Harley “Parsie” Parsano and grandmother Sara Logsdon and aunts Jane Dennison and Rhonda Parsano.
Doug was a 1983 graduate of Rushville High School. He first worked at Bartlow Brothers in Rushville, he then went to work as a driver at Hiel Trucking in Prairie City. He then began his autobody repair career with Len’s Autobody, before he started his own business Doug’s Classic Cars in 1989.
He was a member of the Rushville Moose # 506 and Illinois River Abate. For many years, he golfed in the Wednesday Night Golf League at Scripps Park. He was very proud of his 1967 C-10 Chevy pickup truck that he would take to various car shows including the Super Chevy Show. He also drag raced at the Central Illinois Dragway. He was an avid NASCAR fan, with Dale Earnhardt as his favorite driver. He was also a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys. For many years, he sponsored a Little League baseball team. Doug loved kids and was referred to by many as “Uncle Dougie”. He also enjoyed going to the Lake of the Ozarks with his friend “Squiggy”. His best times were spent with his family and friends in the “garage”.
Services will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 14, 2016, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville, with Pastor Jason Triplett officiating. Interment will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville. Memorials are suggested to the Rushville Little League.
