Earl Kindhart

Earl W. Kindhart, 84, of Ursa, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born July 12, 1938, in Clayton, a son of Robert and Viola (Paben) Kindhart. He married Donna Joyce Walter on January 12, 1957, in Golden, Illinois.  She preceded him in death on September 30, 2018.

Earl is survived by his children, Rob (Brenda) Kindhart of Quincy, Timothy Kindhart of Plymouth, brother, Floyd (Shirley) Kindhart of Lewisville, Texas, daughters-in-law, Nicole Kindhart of Keokuk, Iowa, and Colleen Kindhart of Quincy, brother-in-law, Ronald Walter of Palmyra, Missouri, twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-eight great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.  Several nieces, nephews and other family also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sons, Lon Kindhart and Jeffrey Kindhart, daughter-in-law, Janis Kindhart, brothers Irlon and Glen Kindhart, and a granddaughter, Shannon Graham.

He owned and operated Kindhart Body Shop in Ursa for over forty-five years. He was the shop manager for Dave McCormick Pontiac where he was able to teach autobody at Quincy Technical School. Later, he was employed at Pepsi Bottling Company.  Earl enjoyed drag racing, dirt track racing, and anything with wheels. He and Donna enjoyed camping and had many RVs over the years, including a custom motorhome.    He was a St. Louis Cardinal, motorcycle and N.A.S.C.A.R. enthusiast. He was a Master autobody man and could fix anything. He was especially proud of his family.

Earl served the area as a volunteer Fire Fighter and drove an ambulance for Adams County.  He also served as president of the Anne Nicole Kindhart Helping Hands Foundation, helping host a softball and car show fund raiser for children with cancer for 13 years.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon. Pastor Jerry Spratt to officiate.  Interment to immediately follow at New Providence Cemetery near Ursa, Illinois. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made Children’s Cancer Connections.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.triplettfuneralhomes.com
