Edith B. Musick

Edith B. Musick, a baptized and forgiven child of God, fell asleep in Jesus on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the Golden Good Shepherd Home in Golden, IL. She was born on January 3, 1930, in Quincy, IL, to August Fredrick William and Bertha (Rabe) Kleemeyer. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith in Christ at St. James Lutheran Church, Quincy. In 1947 she graduated from Golden High School. On November 23, 1952, she married Harold L. Musick at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Golden. Married for over 50 years, she built a home for their family and worked alongside her husband on the family farm.

Edith is survived by four children, Esther & Ralph Stamerjohn of Oconomowoc, WI; Elaine & Rev. Ron Rather of Clinton, WI; Ethel & Ted McArthur of White Bear Township, MN; and Paul & Erin Musick of Camp Point, IL; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, Matthew Stamerjohn; Katherine (Katie) & Arnold Loibl; Beth McArthur and Oliver; Heather McArthur; Joseph McArthur & fiancé Ileasa; William A. & Tana Uffenbeck, William, Jenna, Katherine, and baby; David & Kelly Uffenbeck and Clara; Michael & Jade Uffenbeck, Matthew, Henry and Daniel; Maissie & John Aden; and Mclayn Musick.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 1, 2005; parents; brother Ralph Kleemeyer; son-in-law Rev. William J. Uffenbeck; her husband's parents, Orville & Alice Musick; brother-in-law Junior & Florence Musick; and sister-in-law Lois & Bill Allen.

A service of hope and comfort will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clayton, IL, on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Kirk Cunningham officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial to await the Resurrection will be in Golden Memorial Gardens in Golden, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Clayton; the Golden Good Shepherd Home; and  to the Friends of the Golden Library, please make checks for the library payable to the Golden Friends.
