Frances was born June 19, 1919, in Quincy, to the late Joseph Patrick and Mary Ann (Englin) Lish. She married Archie Elmer Ellerman on May 30, 1941, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Quincy. Archie passed away June 9, 2011.
Frances and Archie owned and operated the Variety Store in Mendon and Augusta. She worked at Hosiery Mill in Quincy for 20 years, was a cook at Washington School several years and volunteered at Dewey School, both in Quincy.
She was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Mendon and the St. Elizabeth Society third order.
Surviving are three children, Mike Ellerman and his wife, Jeanne, of Quincy, Terry Ellerman and his wife, Regina, of Quincy, Patricia Damm and her husband, John, of Quincy, 15 grandchildren, Eric Ellerman of Mount Sterling, Bradley Ellerman and his wife, Teresa, of Mauston, Wis., Gregory (Ally Baluka) Ellerman of Springfield, Douglas Ellerman and his wife, Linda, of Bloomington, Aaron Ellerman of Quincy, Amy Webster and her husband, Trevor, of Quincy, Luke Ellerman of Quincy, Bridget Ellerman of Quincy, Robert Damm and his wife, Laura, of Starkville, Miss., Kathy Carter and her husband, Mike, of Quincy, Teresa Darnell and her husband, Tom, of Quincy, Julie Tuley and her husband, Wayne, of Quincy, David Damm and his wife, Christine, of Quincy, Steve Damm and his wife, Shannon, of Dardenne Prairie, Mo., Susie Gray and her husband, Abe, of Quincy; 34 great-grandchildren, Michelle Ellerman, Michael Ellerman, Josh Ellerman, Aubrey Ellerman, Sarah Ellerman, Chase Ellerman, A.J. Ellerman, Grace Ellerman, Gavin Quincy, Ethan Quincy, Dorothy (Kade) Clowers, Mary Damm, Emily Damm, Evan Carter, Elana Carter, Caleb Carter, Clara Carter, Emma Carter, Amanda (Matt) Wand, Jacob (Megan) Darnell, Jason Darnell, Alex Tuley, Abby Tuley, Sam Tuley, Ella Damm, Lisa Damm, John Damm, Andy Damm, Peter Damm, Jacob Damm, Joseph Damm, Isaac Gray, David Gray, and Abraham Gray; one great-great-grandchild, Colt Clowers; one sister-in-law, Shirley Johnson of Quincy, two nephews, Jeff Johnson of Quincy and Paul (Rhonda) Johnson of Quincy.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Joseph and Robert Lish and two sisters, Agnes Ennis and Marie Alexander.
SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18 Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church at Mendon, with the Rev. Jeff Stone, the Rev. Lou Schlangen, Deacon Mike Ellerman and Deacon Terry Ellerman officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery at Quincy.
VISITATION: 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church at Mendon with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers masses may be made to the Catholic church of the donor's choice.
