Harold was born on July 2, 1930, in Meyer. He was a son of the late Lawrence and Emma Griggs Hendrickson. He married June Chockley on Oct. 11, 1953, in Augusta. June survives of Ursa.
Harold attended Greenfield School outside of Meyer, Lima High School and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953, serving during the Korean War. He worked for 27 years at Packaging Corp., three years at Colt and was Ursa Township road commissioner for 16 years.
He was a member of the Ursa Christian Church, where he was an active participant of the Add-A-Couple Class. He was a member of the Ursa Lions Club, where he held the position of Lion Tamer and was a member of the Bear Creek American Legion Post No. 821.
Harold loved playing pinochle, trotline fishing for catfish in the Mississippi River and working in his garden.
Also surviving are four children, Sally Hendrickson of Marcelline, Gene (Lois) Hendrickson of Lima, Nancy (Steve) Donley of Austin, Texas, and Brenda Richards of Marcelline; seven grandchildren, Melissa (Kerry) Ransom, Michael (Stephanie) Donley, Mathew (Monica) Hendrickson, Felicia Donley, Justin Richards, Allison Richards and Connor Richards; two great-granddaughters; three brothers, John (Sandy) Hendrickson of Hannibal, Mo., Mikel (Betty) Hendrickson of Marcelline and Stan (Janet) Hendrickson of Mendon.
He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Hendrickson, and one brother, William "Bud" Hendrickson.
SERVICES: 10 a.m. Saturday in the Ursa Christian Church in Ursa, with Pastor Bill Mitchell conducting. Burial will be in New Providence Cemetery near Ursa.
VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been suggested to the Ursa Christian Church.
