Lawrence O. Robbins

Lawrence O. Robbins, 86, of Fowler Illinois, passed away Friday, March 24, 2023 at his home in Fowler.

 He was born September 28, 1936, in Liberty, Illinois, the son of Lester and Goldie Viar Robbins.

He married Carolyn S. Goldsby on February 10, 1973 in Quincy, Illinois. Carolyn survives in Fowler, Illinois.

He is survived by a daughter Susan (Jeff) Wheeler of Boone, Iowa, two sons Jack (Laurie) Miller of Quincy, Illinois and Larry Robbins of Mendon, Illinois, and eight grandchildren, Daniel, Hannah, Zachery, Nicholas, Jeremy, Kerry, Brian, and Kurtis.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Marry Robbins and Diane Durbin and 3 brothers Dee, Billy and Jerry Robbins.

Lawrence graduated from Mendon High School and attended Quincy Technical College.

Larry was a racing car enthusiast enjoying NASCAR. His favorite driver was Bill Elliot. He would attend local races, especially Quincy Raceway. He owned classic cars including a 51 ford, a 56 Ford and a 71 Maverick. He was an avid gardener famous for his tomatoes.

Lawrence worked for Electric Wheel and later Titan Wheel.

Services will be held at the Triplett Funeral Home of Mendon on Thursday, March 30^th at 1:00 pm with visitation from 11:00 until time of service. Burial will immediately follow the service at the Home Cemetery of Fowler with military honors by the Bear Creek American Legion #823 and the Macomb Military Funeral Honors Team.
