Linda Howell

LORAINE, Ill. -- Linda Kay Howell, 68, of Loraine, passed away Friday (May 1, 2015) at her home.

Linda was born Aug. 14, 1946, in Quincy, to the late Bernard and Ruth Kathryn (Gredell) Wand. She married William Lee Howell on Jan. 20, 1962, in Quincy. William passed away Sept. 26, 2008.

Linda had worked as a CNA at North Adams Home in Mendon since the 1970s. She was a past CNA of the Year award recipient.

She was a member of Loraine United Methodist Church and enjoyed yard work and going to garage sales, but her main hobby was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are six children, Mark (Linda) Howell, Rick (Kelly) Howell, John Howell, Joe (Susan) Howell, Bobby (Michelle) Howell and Peggy (Michael) Brooks; 14 grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah, Valerie, Samantha, Jordan, Amy, Jessica, Angela, Ashley, Amanda, Jamie, Hannah, Brooklynn and Blake; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Elijah.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Mixer.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Thursday, May 7, at the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon with the Rev. Connie Jenkins conducting. Interment will be in New Loraine Cemetery, Loraine.

VISITATION: 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, at the funeral home.

MEMORIALS: North Adams Home Special Care Unit.
