Marilyn Post

GOLDEN, Ill. -- Marilyn C. Post, 71, of Golden, died Friday (Dec. 6, 2013) in Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

Marilyn was born Jan. 18, 1942, in Quincy to the late Reinhard and Rachel Chambers Flesner. She married Ronald L. Post on Nov. 22, 1961, in Golden. Ronald died July 19, 2011.

Marilyn worked for Methode Electronics in Golden, retiring in 2003. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden. She was an avid bowler and had served on the board of the Women's Bowling Association. She enjoyed knitting, camping, boating, working sudoku puzzles, watching and feeding birds, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are four children, Alicia L. Trueblood of Quincy, Kimberly S. (James) Kendrick of Algonquin, Edward E. (Tracy) Post of Golden and Aaron W. Post of Chesapeake, Va.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Elliott (Merlene) Flesner of Liberty.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Virginia Buss, Geneva Juilfs, Irene Gronewold and Florence Maxwell.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Hunter Funeral Home, Golden, with Pastor David Armstrong-Reiner conducting. Inurnment will be in Golden Memorial Gardens, Golden.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. until time of services Wednesday in the funeral home.
