Mildred Greenlief

Mildred C. Greenlief, 94, of Quincy formerly of Mendon passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 in the Good Samaritan Home in Quincy.

Mildred was born on September 8, 1923 in Schuyler County Illinois to the late Berdette L. and Rossie E. (Lawler) Hood. She married Richard J. Greenlief on May 19, 1946 in Rushville. Richard passed away on May 17, 2003.

Mildred was a member of the Mendon Congregational Church. She had worked for the Mendon State Bank then for Lewis Seed Company and finally for Beck Insurance Agency. She enjoyed sewing, baking and rocking babies at the Creative Learning Center in Mendon.

Surviving are; one son, Dennis (Sheila) Greenlief of Batchtown; three grandchildren, Tori Nichols of Mendon, Gary (Cyndi) Sutherland of Benton, Linda (Bryan) McMillan of Winston Salem, N.C. and six great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Taylor Nichols of Mendon, Brooke and James Sutherland of Benton and Mason and Owen McMillan of Winston Salem, N.C.

She was preceded in death by; one daughter, Nancy Kay Rodgers and two grandsons, Andrew Charles Peter and Matthew Kirk Peter.

Services will be 11:30 A.M. on Monday, October 16, 2017 in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon with Reverend Bruce Willard officiating. Interment will be in the Mendon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 15, 2017 in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Good Samaritan Home or the Mendon Congregational Church.
