Norman "Baldy" Arnold

Norman “Baldy” Arnold, 84, of Marcelline, Illinois passed away Saturday April 23, 2022, at 10:00 PM, at his home. He was born on October 21, 1937, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Russell and Helen Jackson Arnold.  He married Iona M. “Onie” Vedenhaupt on September 19, 1959, she preceded him in death on December 16, 2009.

Norman “Baldy” was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He was an excellent concrete finisher and autobody man.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and some friendly competition in shuffleboard, pool, horseshoes, and playing cards.

Survivors include two daughters:  Korina (Steve) Sanders and Nicole Arnold (Stacy Beeler), both of Marcelline, Illinois; four grandchildren:  Seth (Cheyenne) Browning, Taylor Browning, Jesse Beeler and Wyatt Beeler, all of Marcelline; a great grandson: Eli Browning; and a brother:  Ron (Susie) Arnold.    He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brother, Russell Arnold, and sisters, Charlene Smith and Betty Mayfield.

Graveside Services will be held at Franklin Cemetery near Mendon on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 11:30 AM with Pastor Ron Tallcott officiating. Visitation will be held at Triplett Funeral Homes in Mendon, Illinois on Friday, April 29, 2022, between 10:00 and 11:00 AM. Memorials have been established for the family, in care of Korina Sanders.

Following the graveside service, a Celebration of Life Party with food will be held at Korina and Steve Sanders’ residence and Down on The Corner Bar in Marcelline.
