Patricia J. Leverton, 83, of Rushville, passed away at 7:30 PM, Thursday, January 30, 2020, at the Rushville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rushville.
She was born on February 13, 1936, in Fulton County, Illinois, the daughter of Harold Michael and Viva W. (Wilson) Etter. She married Wilbur D. Leverton on August 5, 1954, in Rushville and he preceded her in death on August 15, 2004.
Surviving are two daughters Denise Lane Jordan and husband Charles of Rushville and Sandi Kay Roberts and husband Mark of Timewell, six grandchildren Anthony Jordan and wife Serenity, Bryan Jordan, Charlie Jordan and fiancée Nicole Paul and Ethan Jordan, Matt Roberts and wife Miranda and Aimee Roberts, seven great grandchildren Cacey Jordan, Chace Shavit and husband Jordan, Caylie Loitz and husband Tristin, Colby Watson, Alaina Roberts, Brylee LeMaster, and Tristan Paul, one great great granddaughter Payton Shavit, with an additional baby due in May and two brothers William “Bill” Etter and wife Betty and Richard “Dick” Etter and wife Liz, and one sister Peggy Jane Settles and husband Carl all of Rushville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son Scott Michael Leverton.
Pat was a Grain Assistant for Schuyler-Brown FS in Rushville, for 39 years, retiring in June 1994.
She attended the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, south of Rushville and later the First United Methodist Church in Rushville. In her younger years, she organized and played traveling softball and bowled in a bowling league. She enjoyed traveling, painting and playing Som-R-Set. She volunteered at Culbertson Memorial Hospital and also enjoyed attending the sporting events of her grandchildren and extended family members.
Services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 7, 2020, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville, with Pastor Charla Meyers officiating. Interment will follow in the Rushville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, February 6, 2020, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
