Patricia "Pat" Mitchell

Patricia A. (Parry) (McKinney) Mitchell of Rushville, Illinois passed away at her home, peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, June 18th, 2022, at 4:30am.

She was born April 17, 1940, in Astoria, Illinois to Marshall and Lucille (Kalebaugh) Parry. She was one of four children: Donna (Parry) Baum, Dixie (Parry) Blanch and Allen Parry. Most of her school years were spent in East Peoria, Illinois.

In 1958 she married Bobby D. McKinney, and they had two children Deborah (McKinney)(Koepp) McKinney-Lyytman and Eric B. McKinney. After they divorced, she later married Larry S. Mitchell (Maddog) in 1983 in Beardstown, Illinois. Adding two stepchildren Lora (Bryan) Miller and Joey Mitchell to her family. Together they ran the local tavern, and it was here where Pat first started taking on sick and injured animals in an unofficial capacity.  Between the years of 1986 to 2014, Pat held numerous designations for wildlife rehabilitation permits and operated as a rescuer for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. It was her calling and her devotion. Pat adored her family, she really liked people in general…but she loved animals unconditionally. Pat was also fond of yard sales and bargain hunting and liked to spend her time in pursuits that made her happy. Her other hobby…her two companions, Barney, and Gretta, (a parrot and a chihuahua), will undoubtably miss her as much as her friends and family.

Patricia was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry S. Mitchell, her sister Dixie Blanch, her brother Allen Parry and her daughter Deborah McKinney-Lyytman.

She is survived by her sister Donna Baum of Florida, her son Eric (Ruth) McKinney. Grandchildren Rhonda Baker, Bobby Koepp, Blaine McKinney, Megan Coats, Mattie Looker, Corey Stark, Kristine McFarland, Clarence McFarland, Sierra McFarland and Kevin McFarland; Great Grandchildren Brandon, Abbie, Jaden, Avery, Jaxton, Tanna, Cami, Aaron, Jackson, Sylvie, Max, Cole and Conner; and Great Great Granddaughter, Freya.

There will be a visitation at Triplett Funeral Home on Saturday, August 20th, 2022, from 10:00am until 12:00pm where there will then be a procession to Phillips Cemetery, outside of Rushville, Illinois, for an inurnment.

Pat had requested that any memorials in her memory be made to the Schuyler County Humane Society.
