Pauline Orr

Pauline M. Orr, 93, of Lima, passed away peacefully at 7:45 am on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at her home.

She was born on November 22, 1929, in Adams County, the daughter of the late Ralph & Edna (Rabe) Waite. She was a 1947 graduate of Quincy High School and Gem City Business College. Pauline married Glenn Orr on January 12, 1950, in Quincy. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2020.

Pauline & Glenn farmed in the Meyer Bottoms for more than 60 years. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and keeping the lawn mowed.  She drove grain trucks to the Meyer Elevator and operated tractors whenever necessary. She took meals to the field. In the winter she enjoyed latch hook rug and embroidery projects, as well as sewing cloth strips to have rag rugs made. She enjoyed feeding and watching hummingbirds and had a large collection of small lidded boxes.

She is survived by four daughters: Carolyn (Jim Qualls) Hussong of Sutter, Connie (Darryl) Ruffcorn of Loraine, Cathy (Joe) Daugherty of Clark, Wyoming, Kimberly (Rusty) Corrigan of Ursa and daughter in-law Jana (Terry Reiter) Orr of Meyer. Grandchildren: Eric (Holly) Ruffcorn, Kendall (Stephanie) Ruffcorn, Morgan (Ron) Van Der Weert, Cole (Kalyn) Daugherty, Katlyn Corrigan, Hawley Corrigan and William Corrigan. Great-grandchildren: Dexter, Sylex, Madison, Audrey, Rienn, Ashten, Parker, Emeree and Cason. Two sisters: Virginia Seals and Frieda Mulch, sisters-in-law: Linda Waite, Nadine Seward and Pauline Tenhaeff. Brothers-in-law: Wayne Orr and Gerald (Pat) Orr, two special furry friends Bentley and Bailey and several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Pauline was preceded in death by her son Dewayne Orr, a brother Donald Waite and brothers-in-law Wayne Tenhaeff, Merle Seals, Richard Mulch and Carroll Seward and sisters-in-law Evelyn Waite and Beverly Orr.

Funeral services honoring Pauline’s life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at the Triplett Funeral Home of Mendon. Pastor Russel Corrigan will officiate. Interment will follow at New Providence Cemetery near Ursa. Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon until the time of services on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Pauline are suggested to the Lima-Tioga Fire Protection District or to Blessing Hospice.
