Phyllis J. Cain, 79, of Quincy, formerly of Loraine, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. She was born on June 18, 1944, in Quincy, a daughter of Glenn Maynard and Fay Darlene (Clair) Donley.
She is survived by her four daughters; Michelle Cain of Quincy, Jeanne Cain (William Feather) of Alexandria, Missouri, Angela Edgecomb (Robert) of Loraine, and Krista Miles (Joshua) of Quincy, grandchildren; Eliana Cain, Cameron, Cassandra and Chase Lawrence, Andrew, Christopher, Alanna and Kaiden Edgecomb, Alyssa Hastings, Alexander Selves, Allyson and Aiden Miles, great grandchild; Harleigh Edgecomb, brothers; Richard Donley, and Steve (Nancy) Donley, and sister Dorothy Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son; Ronald Glenn Cain, grandson; Zachary Donhardt, brothers; Gerald and Lloyd Donley, sister-in-law; Janice Donley and a brother-in-law; Harvey Moore.
Phyllis was a graduate of Unity High School. She went on to attain a degree in accounting at John Wood Community College. Phyllis worked at Walmart as an electronics cashier until her retirement. She was a member of the Loraine United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and sewing. Phyllis was especially proud of her family.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon. Pastor Connie Jenkins will officiate the service. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Private graveside services to be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Autism Speaks.
