Raymond Albers

August 30, 1936 — April 7, 2017

Raymond E. Albers, 80, of Golden passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 in his home in Golden.

Raymond was born on August 30, 1936 in Quincy to the late Eilert W. and Wilhemina “Minnie” (Goldenstein) Albers. He married Jeanette Bienhoff on September 11, 1960 in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Golden. Jeanette survives of Golden.

Raymond was a farmer and worked for the Golden Elevator, which later became Deerwester Grain. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Golden Lions Club. He enjoyed bowling, going to his grandchildren’s ball games, spending time with family and friends and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

Surviving are two sons; Brian (Becky) Albers of LaPrairie, Darren Albers of Oakland, CA., two grandchildren, Brydon (Giulia) of Aviano Air Force Base in Italy, Brody Albers of LaPrairie, two brothers, Paul Albers of Australia, Ernest Albers of Newton, IA. and one sister, Rosalee DeNiro of Cincinnati, OH.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Frances and Walter Albers and one sister, Mildred Croxton.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 10, 2017 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Golden with Reverend Linda Murray officiating. Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Golden. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M on Sunday April 9, 2017 in the Hunter Funeral Home in Golden. Memorial contributions have been suggested to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Golden Good Shepherd Home.
