Robert “Doc” Ellerman, 91, of Quincy, passed away at 10:05 pm on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the Sunset Home of Quincy.
He was born on August 10, 1932, in Payson, the son of the late Elmer & Helen (Chapman) Ellerman. Doc served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Mary Seitz on March 16, 1968, in Ursa, and she survives.
Doc was a farmer for most of his working life. In his later years, he worked for Knapheide in Quincy for a period of 10 years. Doc always enjoyed working in one capacity or another. He was a member of the Bear Creek American Legion Post #823 and the Adams County Farm Bureau. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards, bingo & being outdoors.
In addition to his wife of fifty-six years, Mary, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews & friends. Besides, his parents, Doc was preceded in death by four brothers; Walt, Elmo, Marvin & John Ellerman and by two sisters; Rosemary Smith & Laura Stapleton.
Private inurnment will be conducted at New Providence Cemetery in Ursa. Memorial contributions in memory of Doc are suggested to the Be Like Grace Fund or to the Sod Busters Classic.
