Robert J. Richmiller, 83, of Liberty, Illinois, formerly of Mendon, Illinois, passed away at 11:11 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at his home in Liberty. He was born on July 26, 1940, in Rock Island, Illinois, a son of Leroy and Bertha (Wietholder) Richmiller.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Warning of Liberty, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Tonya Richmiller, John (Rica) Richmiller, Gaye Richmiller, Todd (Mary) Logan, Brad Shull, Travis (Kari) Shull, Steve (Lacie) Meyers; a lifelong friend who was like a brother, Paul Lange; and several great nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Richmiller; brother-in-law, Wayne Warning; and a niece, Trina Logan.
Bob was a lifetime farmer, for many years in Honey Creek Township. He was an active member of St. Brigid’s Catholic Church in Liberty, Illinois. He enjoyed riding horses, motorcycles, three and four wheelers and utility vehicles, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He and his sister Mary would ride bicycles three miles to play baseball at Mendon Park. Bob enjoyed watching the TV shows Gunsmoke and Little House on the Prairie. He was a fan of baseball, both the Cardinals and the Cubs. He loved spending time with his dogs and family. Everyone he met loved him and he knew no stranger.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at the Triplett Funeral Home and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Mendon, Illinois. Fr. Scott Snider to officiate. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery located in Quincy, Illinois.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon, Illinois. Memorials may be made to St. Edward’s Catholic Church, St. Jude’s Children's Hospital or Parkinson’s Foundation.
