LORAINE, Ill. - Ronald John Trautvetter, 77, of Loraine, passed away on Thursday (March 13, 2014) in Blessing Hospital.
Mr. Trautvetter was born on Nov. 17, 1936, in Quincy, to the late Cecil Emery "Pete" and Mildred Edith (Irvin) Trautvetter. He married Kathleen Myers on June 29, 1984 near Loraine. Kathleen survives of Loraine.
He attended Loraine Grade School and graduated from Unity High School. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Reserves.
Mr. Trautvetter was a lifelong farmer in the Loraine area and was Keen Township Road Commissioner for 24 years.
Mr. Trautvetter was of the Christian faith.
He liked bulldozing, tinkering and working with his hands making things. He loved working the land and riding his four wheeler. He was never idle.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen Trautvetter of Loraine; two daughters, Tonja (Curt) Lain of Hannibal, Mo., and Tammi (significant other, Chris McClelland) Trautvetter of Mendon; one brother, Larry (Pat) Trautvetter of Loraine; one aunt, Wilma (Gerald) Miller of Quincy; three nephews, Scott (Lisa) Trautvetter, Steven (Carla) Trautvetter and Spencer (Dawn) Trautvetter; one niece, Stacy Trautvetter; and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Thadd Ronald Trautvetter.
SERVICES: 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon with Russell Corrigan conducting. Interment will be in New Loraine Cemetery in Loraine.
VISITATION: 4-7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been suggested to the Keene Township Cemetery Association, Loraine Fire Department or Loraine Lions Club.
