Sheila Carstens

September 12, 1965 — March 10, 2025

Clayton

Sheila Kaye Carstens, 59, of Clayton, passed away unexpectedly at 12:45 pm on Monday, March 10, 2025, at her home in Clayton.

She was born on September 12, 1965, in Carthage, the daughter of Janet (Woods) Burton and the late Richard C. Burton. Sheila was a 1984 graduate of Southeastern High School. She married Kendall Carstens on June 22, 1985, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Golden and he survives.

Sheila worked alongside her husband, Kendall, for over 20 years as they owned and operated K&S Enterprises together; a position that she maintained up until the time of her passing. Sheila loved to be outdoors, tending to her yard and flowers. She was particularly fond of her Princess Diana of Wales memorabilia, and she loved to collect snow globes. She was a very strong willed but loving woman. Sheila had a very personal and private relationship with the Lord. In her high school years, she made many accomplishments and distinctions with her participation in Track & Field.

In addition to her husband, Kendall and her mother; Janet of Carthage, Sheila is survived by a son; Michael Lee Carstens of Houston, Texas, two daughters; Jennifer (Jaysen) Luna of Hawaii and Heather (Kevin) Trombley of Nowata, Oklahoma, six grandchildren; Alex Leenerts, Averick Carstens, Jacob Leenerts, Adeline Carstens, Katie Leenerts & Jeremiah Gordon, a brother; Richard Lee (Nicole) Burton of Anamosa, Iowa, a sister; Lisa (Brian) Knorr of West Point and by several nieces and nephews.
