Shirley Jeanne Miller, 76, of Loraine, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
Shirley was born on June 12, 1946, at home in Hancock County, to Stephen and Lora (Williams) Allen. She attended West Point Grade School and was a 1964 graduate of Bowen High School. Shirley worked at MoorMan's Feed Company and later at Motorola and Paper Box until their closing.
She married Bill Miller on June 6, 1965, in Quincy Illinois. She was a great cook and enjoyed helping with the Church and the Lion’s Club Dinners. Shirley was hard working and loved gardening and canning vegetables. She was a member of the Open Arms Ministries Church in Quincy and a woman of unwavering faith. She was compassionate and kind to everyone she met.
Shirley is survived by Bill, her loving husband, brother, Francis Allen of West Point, Illinois, brothers-in-law, Jerry (Judy) Miller of Ursa, Illinois and Jim Booher of Missouri. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Marjorie Franklin, brothers, Howard Allen and Larry Allen, brother-in-law, Gary Miller and sisters-in-law, Leona Booher and Bonnie Allen.
Funeral Services for Shirley will be held at Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon, Illinois at 10:00am, on Monday, May 22, 2023, Pastor Ken Geisendorfer officiating. Interment to follow at West Point Cemetery in West Point, Illinois.
There will be a visitation held at the Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon, Illinois between 3:00pm and 5:00pm, on Sunday, May 21, 2023.
Memorials are suggested to the Open Arms Ministries Church.
