Steven L. “Steve” Caldwell, 65, of Industry, passed away at 10:30 AM, Friday, October 2, 2020, at his home.
He was born on October 4, 1954, in Rushville, the son of Merle J. and Hope (Reeder) Caldwell.
Surviving are one son Jeremy Caldwell of Industry, one grandson Peyton James Caldwell, three brothers Dennis Caldwell and wife Koreen of Macomb, Reverend Rodney Caldwell and wife Denise of Lanark, and Ron Caldwell and wife Denise of Pittsfield, sister-in-law Bonnie Frye and husband Dave of Winchester and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother James Caldwell.
Steve was a 1972 graduate of Industry High School. He farmed on the family farm and was a farmhand for several area farmers. He also drove a truck for Russell Grain for over 25 years, retiring due to health issues.
He enjoyed deer hunting and loved collecting guns. He was a friend to everyone he met and will be remembered for his contagious laugh. He loved spending time with his family.
Services will be at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville, with David Haney officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville. Private interment will be in the Chockley Cemetery, south of Industry. Memorials are suggested to a fund for Peyton Caldwell’s education, with checks made payable to Jeremy Caldwell.
