Suzanne Ancell

Suzanne M. “Sue” Ancell, age 85, of Mendon, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at her home.  She was born on July 11, 1936 in Mendon, Illinois, the daughter of Floyd and Lena Snyder Furry.  She married Ronald Keith Ancell on March 2, 1957.  He preceded her in death on September 3, 2021.

She graduated from Mendon High School and attended Western Illinois University.  She worked as a C.N.A. and spent most of her life as a homemaker and raising her children.  Sue enjoyed singing along while her husband played the banjo and especially loved BlueGrass Music.  They had attended BlueGrass Festivals over the years.  Sue and Ronald enjoyed traveling in their motorhome and attending NASCAR Races.  Sue enjoyed crocheting, singing, and completing Bible word searches.  Her most cherished times were the moments spent with her family.

Surviving are her daughters:  Karen Tripp, Peggy (Tony) Padavic and Mary (Alan) King, all of Mendon, IL; sons:  Harold Ancell of Mendon, IL, Chuck (Janet) Ancell of Quincy, IL, and William (Mel) Ancell of Mendon, IL; grandchildren:  Tracy (Mathew Fugate) Iverson, Jeremy (April) Tripp, Paige Padavic, Danielle (Duane) Comes, Andy (Brittany) King, Jenny King, Ashleigh (Austin) Zanger, Alycia (Alex Felde) Ancell, Aaron Ancell, Audrey Ancell, Jason (Stacy Davis) Zwick, and Joey (Jill) Zwick; 23 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and infant twin brothers.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 11, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Triplett Funeral Home in Mendon with Richard Martin officiating.  The burial will immediately follow the service in Mendon City Cemetery.
