URSA, Ill. -- Wanda June Brown, 87, of Arlington, Texas, formerly of Ursa, passed away Saturday (May 10, 2014) in the Medical Center of Arlington.

She was born March 20, 1927, in Ursa, a daughter of the late John Norman and Esther Heinecke Frazier. She married the Rev. Billie Lee Brown on Jan. 29, 1949, in Ursa. He died Aug. 5, 2005.

Mrs. Brown was a member of Ursa Christian Church where she was a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship group, Live Wire Class and the church choir. She volunteered at North Adams Home in Mendon and enjoyed studying the Bible, crocheting and word puzzles.

Survivors include a daughter, Vanessa (Dwain) Downing, of Arlington; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herschel (Edith) Frazier of Ursa and Eugene (Bonnie) Frazier of Raymoor, Mo.; a sister, Sandy (Mike) Myers, of Jacksonville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a son, Rickey Brown; a brother, Richard Frazier; and a sister, Ola May Frazier.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, in the Hunter Funeral Home, Mendon, with Pastor Dennis Gartung conducting. Interment will be in New Providence Cemetery, Ursa.

VISITATION: 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, in the funeral home.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, Ursa Christian Church.
