William “Bill” Gallaher, 58, of Quincy, Illinois, passed away at 8:41 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy. He was born in Quincy, Illinois on April 6, 1966, a son of Dale and Wanda (Wright) Gallaher. He married Amy Moore on September 9, 2000, in Quincy. She survives.
Bill attended Quincy Senior High. He was an OTR truck driver and jack of all trades. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and spending time with family. Bill was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams fan.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Gallaher; mother-in-law, Doreen Moore; son, Christopher Shaffer of Hannibal, Missouri; daughter, Liana Shaffer of Decatur, Illinois; grandchildren, Mayzie Madalynn, Mason, Aiden, Dari’yana, Noah and Eli; brothers, Paul Gallaher and Rodney Gallaher both of Quincy, Illinois and a sister-in-law Dorella Chestnut. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Melvin Moore; brother Walter D. Gallaher, Jr., a brother-n-law, Howard Moore; and sisters Claudelle Altgilbers and Wanda Prince.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Private Family service will be held at a later date.
